Just finished singing Happy Birthday to Madeleine and earlier her sister Valerie. Both are treasured friends from early childhood. I feel blessed to have known them and their sister June. All of them have led meaningful and good lives. I love them all! Happy Birthday, Madeleine!
Well Happy Birthday Judy! Hope you are enjoying Fort Lauderdale. Next time I am in my home in Del Ray Beach perhaps we can get together again for lunch.
Love my childhood friend Valerie and her twin sister Madeleine. They both have made wonderful lives for themselves and respective families. Their husbands Ken and Norman are pretty terrific too. Madeleine and Norman recently had their first grandchild and love her to the nth degree!
Wishing my good friends. Valerie and Madeleine a wonderful Happy Birthday!
Well Happy Birthday Judy. Trust you will have a special celebration there in Florida.

Dear Madeleine & Valerie, Happy Birthday to my two wonderful Ramsey Road friends. I love you both and wish only the best to you, your loving husbands, and children. It's my plan to get to see you both in the next two years. Folks you all should have friends like these!
The poet Rumi's epitaph in Konya, Turkey says: "When we are dead, seek not our tomb in the earth, but find it in the hearts of men." That is where I and Diane's other good friends will find Diane and the memories of good times spent with this special friend. Our friendship started 75 years ago and while we lived 3,000 miles apart for the last 52 years we kept in contact through letters, emails, phone calls, and on my trips back to New York. It was with great sadness that I learned of Diane's sudden passing from Ellen Kaplan. Diane was a Montessori teacher for a year in Marysville, California and in the Deep South for another year. She wrote a book on Montessori and gave lectures on it as well - - one in Japan. After graduating from the Sarah Lawrence College she travelled the world and took long safari's in India and Africa, visted Delphi to consult with the Pythia before going on her own to places like Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern countries. Oftentimes she was a frugal traveller paying only five dollars a night for a room without air-conditioning. This was followed by visiting the Galapados and traveling on a steamer ship half way around the world. We had planned a trip together to the Soviet Union when Mikhail Gorbachev was in power; but alas, when Diane had to change the dates we had to go travel separately because my negotiations did not allow for it. Instead we once enjoyed a car trip together up to Montreal and Quebec. As many of you may be aware Diane was a writer and belonged to a local group where the members enjoyed sharing their work. Also, she loved going into Manhattan to see plays on and off broadway for many years. Finally, Diane was there for me when my dear father died and I made trips for her here in California to see her brother before he passed. We were good friends and I count my blessings for her friendhip.
Thanks for posting these photos. While I did not attend this reunion, they bring back some lovely memories. Best wishes to the whole class of 1960. Continue to suck the marrow out of life!
A very wonderful birthday to you Madeleine there is beautiful Tucson with Norman and Deborah. Also, happy birthday to Valerie in Michigan with her fine husband, Ken. Perhaps next year we can all meet. I would love to see my childhood friends and relive our happy memories. Love you both! Elizabeth
Judy, you and Jerry look great. I see that you like living in Florida and are pretty busy still. My second home is in Delray Beach. Perhaps next time I am there, I will look you up. What does a pier agent for Celebrity Cruises do? So far I have taken two cruises with Celebrity and have a 45-day cruise with them next year from Sri Lanka to Venice.
Happy Birthday Judy. Wishing you the best for the New Year!
Happy Birthday to a lovely friend. May this Chanukah season bring blessings to you and the many others of the 1960 classmates who celebrate this holiday.
Good afternoon Judy. Trust you are having a great birthday in Fort Lauderdale today! I didn't know you had moved to Fort Lauderdale until reading it here. You probably didn't know it, but I have a second home in Delray Beach just about two towns north of you. So
next time I am in Florida, I will try and meet up with you.
Hi Judy,
Happy birthday to my lovely GWU roommate and Great Neck childhood friend. Trust this finds you and Michael doing well.
